United Arts of Central Minnesota, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, exists to improve the quality of life for people in central Minnesota by raising money and support for the area’s leading arts organizations. During its annual giving campaign in March and April, United Arts offers an opportunity for community leaders and businesses to work together to support the arts. Since 1985, United Arts has helped raise more than 2 million dollars to benefit the arts in central Minnesota! Many see their support of United Arts as the broadest way to improve the cultural environment in the St. Cloud area, as well as one of the most significant ways to benefit the largest number of people with one investment! ONE annual gift to United Arts inspires, entertains and educates thousands throughout the community! ONE annual gift to United Arts helps make our area a more vibrant, enjoyable place to live, work, play and visit.

United Arts is proud to support eight premier arts organizations: The Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud, Great River Educational Arts Theatre, Minnesota Center Chorale, Multicultural Children’s Art Connection, St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra, The St. John’s Boys’ Choir, The Troupe Theatre and Visual Arts Minnesota.

Financial contributions from United Arts form a critical part of each arts organization’s annual budget. Ticket sales, special events, program advertising and concert sponsorships cover only a portion of operating expenses. The funds from United Arts are essential for each organization’s stability, development and growth.

Each year a United Arts’ allocations panel comprised of community and business leaders knowledgeable in the arts and fiscal management, reviews finances, management, governance, outreach activities, community support, artistic quality, and accomplishments of the previous year for every member organization. Each arts organization must continue to meet all united Arts’ criteria in order to maintain membership.

Contributions from the Annual Campaign together with proceeds from special events, charitable gambling and an arts endowment fund are distributed to member organizations in a fair and equitable manner based on each organization’s 3-year budget average. Contributions to United Arts Annual Campaign that are designated to a specific organization are distributed over and above the general allocation.
