Mission:

The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to present high quality performance of orchestral music and educational outreach activities to the St. Cloud area, as well as to encourage participation by local and area musicians, and to further the understanding and appreciation of orchestral music.

Overview:

St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra, under the music direction of William Schrickel, produces a successful season that includes six concerts awing audiences of more than 7,500. The Symphony’s highly acclaimed Classics for Kids program introduces every fourth grader in St. Cloud School District 742 to classical music!

History:

The St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra, in existence since 1975, presents quality performances of classical orchestral music to central Minnesota. There is no orchestra of equal quality within 60 miles of St. Cloud. Audiences number 600-800 per concert, and during the course of a season, the symphony presents music to a total audience of 6,445. The local and regional musicians who perform with the orchestra represent three local colleges and universities, public schools as well as community volunteers. During its 6-concert season, the orchestra presents programming that challenges the musicians and inspires its audiences. “Classics for Kids”, an educational outreach program of the orchestra, exposes every fourth grade child in the St. Cloud area to classical music.
